Restoring Freedom, Dignity, and Hope
The Bonded Labour Rescue & Rehabilitation Program of ROPES is dedicated to identifying, rescuing, protecting, and rehabilitating individuals and families trapped in bonded labour and other forms of exploitation. Bonded labour remains a serious social issue that deprives people of their basic human rights, dignity, and freedom, often affecting the poorest and most vulnerable communities.
Through this program, ROPES works closely with government departments, law enforcement agencies, legal aid organizations, and community stakeholders to identify cases of bonded labour and facilitate the rescue of affected individuals. The organization provides immediate support to rescued persons and helps them access the rights, protections, and rehabilitation benefits available under government schemes.
Rescue is only the first step toward recovery. ROPES focuses on the long-term rehabilitation of survivors by helping them rebuild their lives through livelihood support, skill development training, education, counseling, and social reintegration. The program aims to ensure that rescued individuals and their families can achieve economic independence and avoid falling back into exploitative conditions.
Community awareness and prevention are also important components of the initiative. ROPES conducts awareness campaigns, village meetings, educational programs, and advocacy activities to inform communities about labour rights, human rights, legal protections, and the dangers of bonded labour. These efforts help create safer communities and prevent future exploitation.
