Youth Skill Building and Employability Programme

ROPES empowers rural, tribal, and marginalized youth with skills, confidence, and opportunities to build sustainable livelihoods and achieve economic independence. Through its Youth Skill Building and Employability Programme, young women and men are equipped with market-relevant vocational skills, career guidance, employability training, and entrepreneurship development support.

Special focus is given to adolescent girls, young women, tribal youth, school dropouts, and economically disadvantaged youth, helping them access meaningful employment and self-employment opportunities. The programme enhances workplace readiness, confidence, leadership, and income-generation potential, enabling youth to become productive members of their communities and contribute to local development.

Computer Skill Development Programme

ROPES implements a Computer Skill Development Programme to enhance employability and self-employment opportunities for rural and marginalized youth. Through structured 3-month and 6-month computer training courses, young people gain essential computer knowledge, digital literacy, and practical technical skills required for today’s job market.

The programme helps youth improve their confidence, workplace readiness, and career prospects, enabling them to access employment opportunities in nearby cities such as Bangalore, Chennai, and Hyderabad. By equipping young people with valuable technical skills, ROPES supports them in building sustainable livelihoods and a brighter future for themselves and their families.

Annual Beneficiaries: 40 -50  Youth Attend computer skill development training each year.

Beautician Skill Development Programme

ROPES implements the Beautician Skill Development Programme to empower rural young women and adolescent girls through vocational training and livelihood opportunities. The programme provides professional training in beauty and wellness services, helping participants acquire practical skills that can generate sustainable income.

The training enables women to start their own beauty parlours, work in salons, or provide home-based beauty services within their communities. By enhancing skills, confidence, and entrepreneurship, the programme supports women in achieving economic independence and improving their quality of life.

Annual Beneficiaries: 35-45 Young Women and Adolescent Girls receive beautician skills training each year.

Tailoring Skill Development Programme

ROPES implements the Tailoring Skill Development Programme to empower rural women and young girls through vocational training and livelihood opportunities. The programme provides practical training in tailoring, sewing, and garment-making skills, enabling participants to develop income-generating abilities and become financially independent.

The training helps women start their own tailoring businesses, take stitching orders, produce garments, or find employment in garment-related sectors. By enhancing technical skills, self-confidence, and entrepreneurship, the programme creates sustainable livelihood opportunities and strengthens the economic well-being of rural families.

Annual Beneficiaries: 40-50 Women and Young Girls receive tailoring skills training each year.

Career Guidance and Counseling

ROPES conducts Career Guidance and Counseling sessions to help rural and marginalized youth make informed decisions about education, vocational training, employment, and entrepreneurship opportunities. The programme provides career mentoring, information on emerging career pathways, skill development options, and higher education opportunities, enabling young people to plan their future with confidence.

By improving career awareness and decision-making skills, the programme helps youth pursue suitable educational and livelihood opportunities. 

Annual Beneficiaries: 100–200 Youth benefit from career guidance and counseling services each year.

Industry Linkages and Employment Support

ROPES facilitates connections between trained youth and potential employers through partnerships with industries, businesses, training institutions, and service providers. The programme supports young people in accessing job opportunities, apprenticeships, internships, and placement services that enhance their employability and career prospects.

By bridging the gap between skills training and employment, ROPES helps youth secure dignified livelihoods and build sustainable careers.
