Formation of Rural Girls Sports Clubs
ROPES established Rural Girls Sports Clubs in Ragimanupenta, Bodabandla, villages to promote physical fitness, teamwork, leadership, and self-confidence among adolescent girls. A total of 243 girls actively participated in sports activities and received regular training in games such as Kho-Kho, Kabaddi, Baseball, and Tug of War. The initiative provided a safe and inclusive platform for girls to develop their talents, improve their well-being, and strengthen their participation in community life.

Promoting Holistic Development Through Sports
ROPES believes that sports play a vital role in the physical, mental, and social development of children and youth. The organization promotes sports and recreational activities to encourage healthy lifestyles, discipline, teamwork, leadership, confidence, and social inclusion. Special efforts are made to ensure that girls, marginalized children, and youth from rural communities have equal opportunities to participate in sports and showcase their talents.
Community and School Sports Promotion
ROPES regularly organizes village-level sports competitions, school sports programmes, and inter-school tournaments to encourage active participation among children and youth. Sports materials and equipment are distributed to schools, youth clubs, and village sports groups to strengthen local sports infrastructure and create opportunities for young people to engage in both indoor and outdoor games.

Promotion of Traditional Sports and Games

To preserve cultural heritage and promote community participation, ROPES encourages traditional Indian games such as Kabaddi, Kho-Kho, Tug of War, Skipping, Running Races, Volleyball, and other indigenous sports. These activities help strengthen teamwork, sportsmanship, and community unity while reviving traditional rural sporting practices.
Sports Talent Identification and Support
ROPES identifies and nurtures talented young athletes by encouraging their participation in district, state, and national-level competitions. Through continuous motivation, guidance, and support, young sportspersons are provided opportunities to develop their skills and achieve higher levels of excellence.

Sports Achievements

Several girls supported under the programme have achieved success in district and national-level sports competitions, showcasing their talent and dedication. Ms. Nirosha, a sponsored girl, was selected to the National Baseball Team and won multiple medals and trophies in district-level baseball tournaments. Ms. Nikitha, another sponsored child, excelled in Kho-Kho, winning several medals and trophies at district and national levels. Their achievements reflect the positive impact of ROPES’ sports promotion initiatives and continue to inspire other girls to participate in sports, build confidence, and pursue excellence.
