The programme works to protect children from abuse, neglect, exploitation, violence, child labor, trafficking, and child marriage while promoting their rights, well-being, and development.
Through community awareness programmes, child protection initiatives, and collaboration with local stakeholders, ROPES strengthens community-based child protection systems and empowers children to actively participate in decisions that affect their lives. Special efforts are made to prevent child marriage and ensure that every child has access to protection, education, and opportunities for a brighter future.
Key Interventions
Child-Friendly Accountability Mechanisms (CFAM)
ROPES has established Child-Friendly Accountability Mechanisms (CFAMs) in villages to strengthen community-based child protection systems. These platforms enable children, parents, community leaders, frontline workers, and local stakeholders to identify, report, prevent, and respond to child protection concerns in a timely and effective manner.
CFAMs promote community awareness, strengthen child safeguarding practices, and encourage collective responsibility for protecting children’s rights and well-being. Through active participation and collaboration, the initiative helps create safer and more child-friendly communities where children can grow and thrive free from abuse, neglect, and exploitation.
Annual Beneficiaries: 1800 Children benefit from CFAM initiatives each year.
Child Rights Awareness Programs
ROPES conducts regular Child Rights Awareness Programmes for children, parents, teachers, community leaders, and local institutions to promote understanding of children’s rights and responsibilities. The programme raises awareness on child protection, access to education and healthcare, and the importance of creating safe, supportive, and nurturing environments for every child.
Awareness sessions also educate communities about protection from violence, abuse, exploitation, and harmful practices, while highlighting legal provisions related to child protection. Through these initiatives, ROPES empowers children and communities to uphold child rights and contribute to the creation of child-friendly and protective environments.

Prevention of Child Marriage
ROPES works actively to prevent child marriage in remote, tribal, and marginalized communities through awareness campaigns, counseling, community mobilization, and collaboration with schools, families, community leaders, and local authorities. The programme promotes the importance of education, health, protection, and empowerment of adolescent girls.
Through early identification and timely intervention, ROPES has successfully prevented and streamlined more than 500 child marriages, enabling vulnerable children, especially girls, to continue their education and pursue a brighter future. The initiative contributes to creating a protective environment where children can grow, learn, and achieve their full potential free from harmful practices.
Prevention of Child Labor
ROPES works to eliminate child labor by promoting education, strengthening family and community awareness, and supporting community-based child protection mechanisms. The programme identifies children at risk of child labor and ensures they are linked to appropriate support services, enabling them to access education and a safer future.
Through community mobilization, counseling, and timely interventions, ROPES has successfully rescued more than 360 children from various forms of labor and facilitated their enrollment and continuation in school. The initiative helps protect children from exploitation while ensuring their right to education, development
Prevention of Child Trafficking and Child Sexual Abuse
ROPES conducts awareness and prevention programmes to protect children from child trafficking, child sexual abuse, unsafe migration, and various forms of exploitation. Through community awareness campaigns, school-based sessions, and stakeholder engagement, children, parents, and community members are educated on recognizing risks, reporting concerns, and safeguarding vulnerable children. The programme strengthens community vigilance and child protection systems, enabling timely intervention and support for children at risk.
Through these efforts, 56 cases of child trafficking and child sexual abuse were identified, addressed, and supported through appropriate protection mechanisms, helping ensure the safety, dignity, and well-being of vulnerable children.
Addressing Corporal Punishment and Violence Against Children
ROPES promotes positive parenting practices and child-friendly discipline approaches to prevent corporal punishment and violence against children. Through community awareness campaigns, school-based programmes, and capacity-building initiatives, parents, teachers, and community members are encouraged to adopt non-violent and supportive methods of child care and discipline.
The programme focuses on creating safe, nurturing, and protective environments for children at home, in schools, and within communities. By strengthening awareness of children’s rights and promoting positive behavior change, ROPES helps reduce violence against children and supports their healthy growth, development, and well-being.
Children Clubs:
ROPES has established 40 Children Clubs in Tribal and Dalit villages, providing safe and inclusive spaces where children can learn, express their views, build confidence, and develop leadership skills. Through regular meetings and activities, children enhance their communication, teamwork, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities.
The Children Clubs encourage children to actively participate in community development initiatives and become advocates for their own rights, protection, education, and well-being. The programme empowers children to become confident leaders and positive change-makers within their communities.
Membership: 736 Children Members actively participate in 40 Children Clubs across Tribal and Dalit villages.
Life Skills Education
ROPES provides Life Skills Education to children and adolescents to help them develop confidence, resilience, and essential skills for everyday life. Through interactive sessions and participatory activities, children strengthen their communication, decision-making, critical thinking, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills. The programme also promotes personal safety, self-awareness, leadership, and responsible behavior, enabling children to make informed choices, overcome challenges, and build a positive future. Life Skills Education empowers children to become confident, capable, and active contributors to their families and communities.
